Students from elementary, secondary, technical-vocational, and higher education institutions in the Philippine can now travel domestically with a discount.
The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) green-lighted a 20 percent discount (or promotional fare with lower price, if there’s any) on domestic flights for Filipino students starting today.
However, CAB resolution also stated that only Filipino students who are enrolled, including weekends and holidays, will be able to avail of the discounted fares.
The bill, which President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law last July, gives students the liberty to choose between promotional fares or the discounted regular fare as mandated by R.A. 11314 or the Student Fare Discount Act.
Students are required to present the following identification cards upon purchase of tickets in ticketing offices to avail of the discount:
– school ID
– validated enrollment form
– any of the following: birth certificate, baptismal certificate, form 137, naturalization certificate, passport
