“English For All” receives 1.7 million baht donation for children’s English classes, Filipino teachers’ salary

Just a quick post before I talk to the angels on my pillows.

The growing population of both students and Filipino teachers under the “English for All” project will be secured for another year. Many thanks to a company in Bangkok for their 1.2 million baht donation. Many thanks as well to former member of parliament for Phitsanulok Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom for raising more than 300,000 baht. And of course, to parents and some generous individuals in Phitsanulok. Thank you for the additional 200,000 baht which will also be added to the fund.

On June 23, Sapanteesam School received more than 1.7 million baht. This amount is more than enough for the salary of 5 Filipino teachers who are teaching the students under the project. Yes, four teachers last year and now five this year. I’m pretty sure the project will be needing an additional Filipino teacher next year. Stay tuned. I will post it here.

Former MP for Phitsanulok Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom delivering a talk

Earlier this year, school executives from one of Nakorn Si Thammarat’s districts and the mayor of the same province visited the project. The success of “English For All” reached them, hence the visit. And before the end of this month, primary school teachers from Nakon Si Thammarat will be the school’s  next visitors. I was informed that their project similar to ours is running successfully. This is a good opportunity for both Thai teachers and Filipino teachers to exchange ideas.

Also, former finance minister Korn Chatikavanij and those who donated for the project via the crowdfunding Asiola, will also come to Phitsanulok sometime this month to meet the Filipino teachers and the kids – the kids who I believe will shape the future of Thailand. This is getting more exciting by the day. Sawasdee krup!
