General Prayuth Chan-ocha is officially appointed as the 29th prime minister of Thailand. He received a royal command appointing him to the Kingdom’s highest administration position. His appointment was announced in the Royal Gazette on Sunday.
Prayuth made his first speech after being appointed, and urged the public to join hands together with the authorities in restoring democracy in the country.
He said he would submit his cabinet line-up for the royal approval within October.
