With all the confusions going on, one thing is clear. Tourists from mainland China and Taiwan have a chance of being exempted for the visa fee worth 1,000 baht upon arrival. Yes, they pay that fee when they enter Thailand.
Both governments are just waiting for the confirmation and its publication in the Royal Gazette. When signed, the exemption will be in place for three months. It is the same amount we Filipinos and other countries are enjoying upon entering the Kingdom by plane. We don’t pay that fee. Visas for work and temporary residence would remain subject to fees though.
